We do it all. We had runners getting spuds at the spud run at Glenariffe, getting big medals at the Walled City 10 miler, getting PBs at the Queens 5k and having their fair share of the craic in Belfast on St Patrick’s day.
Ballymena Runners put in a great performance at the NI + Ulster Senior XC Championship in Donegall
Entries are now open for the Ballymena Runners Golden Mile on Saturday 23 March 2024 on the new St Patrick’s Link Road.
The Golden Mile is part of a free community event that features Family fun, a Walk and Fun Run and the Golden Mile race.
Its been a busy and successful week for our runners at Sperrin Harriers Winter League, Armagh International Road Races and at Stormont Cross Country. Meanwhile we presented Turning Point NI with a cheque for £1000 from the Race over the Glens.
With over 300 entries the Ballymena Belles is filling up fast. This Ladies Only 5 mile road race will be on Tuesday 9 April at 7pm. Don’t miss out enter now.

After postponements due to bad weather the new Cosy Sofa started on 23 January in Lifestyle Fitness. This year 100 people have joined. It was brilliant to see so many new faces and such enthusiasm from everyone taking part. Our thanks to everyone in the club who is helping out at the Cosy Sofa.

There have been some great performances in the Mallusk Cross Country and the Sperrin Harriers Trail Series this week. A 3rd overall for Jason Wilson at An Cretan and age category places for Paula, Ray, Susanna and Brigid

Ballymena Runners has raised £866 for the NI Children’s Hospice through a treadmill challenge. Runners and walkers kept two treadmills busy for twelve hours each day raising a great total.
Ballymena Runners is organising a Treadmill Challenge in aid of the Children’s Hospice.

Ballymena Runners has been the partner club for Ecos parkrun since it began back in 2012. This weekend saw an impressive turnout of club members for the 500th Ecos parkrun.
Last weekend we had some strong performances in the McConnell Shield Cross Country race along the banks of the Sixmilewater River in Ballyclare.
Last weekend saw club members at the Centra 10k in Belfast. Brilliant performances saw some of our runners get PBs and enjoy a great morning out.
Despite Storm Babet, this weekend saw some superb performances at the Billy Neil Cross Country races and John McGerty completed a Midnight Marathon.
This week saw our runners compete at the GR8 Dundrum race, the Malaga 10k and Amsterdam Marathon. And our XC runners performed outstandingly to win medals and secure selection for NI.
Race over the Glens 2024 - Race entries now open
Ballymena Runners is pleased to announce that Race Over the Glens will be on New Year’s Day (Monday 1st January 2024) at Glenariff Forest Park starting at noon. Race entries are now open.

This week saw many fabulous performances including a fabulous Bronze medal at the NI and Ulster Road Relay Championships. Meanwhile we had runners in the Lecale ultra and had a great turnout for the opening of the XC season in Armagh. And of Course we had runners in Belfast Half Marathon.
This weekend saw club members put in brilliant performances in some difficult conditions in Portrush, The Mournes and on Rathlin.
