Wednesday Hill Training

This training has a focus on building strength and speed and comprises a mix of trail, hill and speed work including interval training and track sessions. 

Please check on the night which group suits you best but as a broad rule of thumb the groups are:

  • Performance (suitable for sub 23 min 5k runners)

  • Development (suitable for sub 23 - 26 min 5k runners)

  • Foundation (suitable for 26+ min 5k runners)

Meeting Point: Behind the Leisure Centre
Time: Meet at 18:25 to start 18:30 sharp

Group 1 – Duncan
Carniny Road
Workout: 2 sets of 6 x 1-minute hill reps
Recovery: Jog down (90 sec), 3 min between sets

Group 2 – Ray
Old Ballymoney Road
Workout: 2 sets of 5 x 1-minute hill reps
Recovery: Jog down (90 sec), 3 min between sets

Group 3 – Susanna
Toome Road
Workout: 2 sets of 4 x 1-minute hill reps
Recovery: Jog down (90 sec), 3 min between sets

Midweek Miles at Leisure Centre

Meeting Point: Behind the Leisure Centre

Time: Meet and ready to run at 18:30

We have groups meeting for steady runs for 5k and 5 miles each Wednesday evening. All runs start at 6.30pm

Both groups are open to all abilities, are run at your own pace and are suitable for everyone.

These runs are peer-led with arranged routes which will be briefed at the start.
