Incident Guidelines

An incident is a situation where inappropriate behaviour is observed or reported by any member of the group.  Inappropriate behaviour can take many forms and may happen verbally, in actions or electronically.

As a club we expect members to behave in a courteous and polite manner with all other club members and with the public.

  • Where inappropriate behaviour is reported or observed a record of the incident should be made on an Incident Report Form.

  • The incident should be reported to the Welfare Officer who should receive a copy of the Incident Report Form within 24 hours.  Ensure the Welfare Officer received the report.

  • Ensure there is confidentiality – information about the incident will be provided to the Welfare Officer who will advise you if anyone else needs to be told on a "need to know basis".

  • Inform parents, unless to do so may put a child at further risk.

  • The Welfare Officer will be responsible for storing any report in a safe and secure environment.

  • You can confidentially discuss instances of inappropriate behaviour with the Welfare Officer.

The incident guidelines have been summarised on the Leaders Handout.
