Link the Town - Golden Mile and Fun Run

Ballymena Runners and Radius Housing is organising the Link the Town free community event on Saturday 13 September 2025 at Ballymena Showgrounds (car park on the Link Road). The event features:

  • Family fun from 11.30am with games and bouncy castles

  • Walk and Fun Run at 12.00 noon on the new St Patrick’s Link Road

  • Ballymena Runners Golden Mile at 12.45pm on the new St Patrick’s Link Road

Timetable

10.30 Gates open

11.30 Link Road closed between Showgrounds Car Park entrance and Castle Tower School.

11.30 Family Fun - Games and Bouncy Castles

11.45 Warm up to music for Walk and fun run.

12.00 Start of Walk and Fun Run (2.5 km /1.5 miles)

12.15 Registration for Golden Mile closes

12.45 Ballymena Runners Golden Mile

1.45 Link Road reopens

Entries for Walk and Fun Run

The Walk and Fun Run are free to enter. There is no need to register - just turn up and take part.

Entries for Ballymena Runners Golden Mile

Registration is now open - REGISTER HERE. This race is free to enter. Please register in advance. You need to be aged 14 or over to take part in the Golden Mile.

We will accept race entries on the day up to 12.15 but please register in advance so there are no delays on the day.

The race will be on the new road and will be an out and back course. It is flat and fast.

Parking and Access

Car parks are available in the Showgrounds car parks on Warden Street and on the new Link Road from Kernohans Lane end. The event takes place in the car park on the Link Road.

Note the Link Road will be closed for the event from 11.30am and 1.45pm between the Showgrounds entrance and Castle Tower School.
