Broughshane 5‑Mile Race Delivers Community Spirit and Sporting Excellence
The annual Broughshane 5‑Mile Race reached full capacity on Monday, with 480 runners taking to the village roads in collaboration with the Broughshane Community Association. Under perfect summer skies, spectators lined the streets, creating an electric atmosphere that celebrated both sport and community.
After crossing the finish line, participants were welcomed by Ballymena Runners for a post‑race barbecue and presented with sustainable, zero‑waste medals – a fitting tribute to the event’s eco‑friendly ethos. You can view the results here.

The provisional results for the Broughshane 5 mile race are now available…
The race was won by Neil Sillance with Chris Hopkins taking second. Ballymena Runners James Hamilton, Jason Wilson and Sean Hasson took 3rd, 4th and 5th with excellent performances.
First lady home was Kerry Bamber followed by Karen Wilton and Laura Wylie. Cherith Wright and Judith Worthington were the first and second Ballymena runners ladies home.

All the entries for the Broughshane 5 Mile Road Race have now gone. It’s a sell out!
Race joining instructions are now available and contain information on race number collection, parking, pacers etc. You can see the full race joining instructions here.
Race numbers can be collected at the Community Centre from 3.00 to 6.30p,

Ballymena Runners is delighted to announce the date for Broughshane 5 Mile Road Race.
Date
The race will be on Monday 18 August 2025. The race starts at 7.00pm near the Broughshane Community Centre on the Knockan Road.
Entries
£20 affiliated, £22 non-affiliated.
There will be no entries on the night and entries are capped - so register as soon as you can. Entries close midnight Friday 15 August.

Race number collection
Pick up your pack at Broughshane Community Centre at 21 Knockan Road, Broughshane from 3.00pm to 6.30pm on race day.
Parking
Please car share to reduce congestion in Broughshane village.
Parking will be available at the following locations:
Second Broughshane Church Car Park (2 min walk to registration)
Broughshane Community Centre (Limited spaces 60 only)
Behind James McNeill Hardware (5 min walk to registration 100 spaces)
Behind the Thatch (4 min walk to registration 20 spaces)

We are delighted to announce that we have experienced runners from Ballymena Runners that will pace you to your goal time. So if you want that time, or maybe a 5 mile PB come trust them to get you around!
All pacers will be on the start line on race day, so come say hello!

The Ballymena Runners Big Feed
Please join us at the Community Centre after the race for the famous Ballymena Runners Big Feed and BBQ . We will do our best to cater for vegan.
Medals and prizes
All finishers will receive a bespoke commemorative medal as they finish.
Prizes will be distributed after the event in the Community Centre.
