Race over the Glens 2024 - Race entries now open

Ballymena Runners is pleased to announce that Race Over the Glens will be on New Year’s Day (Monday 1st January 2024) at Glenariff Forest Park starting at noon. Race entries are now open.

This week saw many fabulous performances including a fabulous Bronze medal at the NI and Ulster Road Relay Championships. Meanwhile we had runners in the Lecale ultra and had a great turnout for the opening of the XC season in Armagh. And of Course we had runners in Belfast Half Marathon.

This weekend saw club members put in brilliant performances in some difficult conditions in Portrush, The Mournes and on Rathlin.

This week saw some fabulous performances and achievements from our club at the Lurig Mountain Challenge, the Connswater 5 miler in Belfast and the 10 mile Dambusters in the Mournes.

The Hillsborough Castle Running Festival saw Ballymena runners in action in the 5K, 10k and half marathon.

Although there was no training this week our runners were still out and about at races. This week saw us run The Carn , The Great Rossa Run and the 20 mile Canal Run…

On Sataurday Emma Donnelly travelled to the Mournes to complete the Spelga Skyline race. Is this the Hardest Half Marathon? Probably…….

Community groups from Ballymena North and South alongside Ballymena Runners and their statutory partners have made the decision to cancel the planned 'Trainers Before Tyres' run event until further notice as a mark of respect.

A free community event will mark the opening of the new road on Friday 16th June. This is a unique opportunity to walk, jog or run along the new link road before it opens to traffic. It will include a fun community event with bouncy castles and music at the Showgrounds. And we have the Golden Mile - a 1 Mile race on the pristine new road. Come along and join us as we celebrate the new road opening.
