You can now register for a new cross country group we have set up on clubforce. You can also take part in a special cross country taster session on 30th October. We would encourage members to give cross country a try and think about joining us in some races in the Cross Country League.

Ballymena Runners were in action this weekend at the Cross Country Championships at Comber and in the Marathon, Half Marathon and 10k at Shane’s Castle Festival of Running.

Ballymena Runners are delighted to announce that 8 of our runners have been selected to represent Northern Ireland Masters at the upcoming North South Challenge International. The selections come after a tough Cross Country race at the NI Masters Trials & Championship which saw members pick up silver and gold medals. Meanwhile Saturday saw the Ballymena Runners Return to Running group complete their first Parkrun at Ecos and John Nicholson completed Manchester Marathon in under 3 hours.

A new training block will begin on week commencing 18 October for 10 weeks. We have set out the arrangements for the groups for the new training block and what, if anything, you need to do.

Mountain Marathons in the Mournes, partnering our local parkrun, the return of the Belfast Marathon with first timers and pb's galore! and the 'big one' . . . the London Marathon with first timers, pb's and club records smashed! as well as our 'Iron Men' in Barcelona!

Ballymena Runners put in some great performances at the NI and Ulster Road Relay Championships topped by our ladies team winning a brilliant Bronze medal. Meanwhile club members have been running in the Great Manchester Run and at the Buzzards Roost in the Mourne Mountain Run.

This week saw club runners in action at Ecos parkrun, NI 10,000 metre championships, Shanes Castle half marathon and 10k as well as the Mourne Mountain Marathon. And watch out for something to mark the clubs 30th birthday…

With the darker evenings drawing in it’s more important than ever to be wearing your high viz clothing. From the start of October you must also be wearing some form of reflective clothing when running with the club.

See and be seen is the golden rule.
