Lurig Training Begins Wed 13th July

Lurig training will commence at 18:30 on Wednesday 13th July and run for four weeks ending Wednesday 3rd August 2016.

During the last 12 months we have seen our most successful year to date in the mountains in terms of participation and international recognition.  A number of our international runners started their mountain running journey on Lurig.  Lurig is a fabulous short mountain race located in the heart of the glens and forms part of the fantastic Cushendall festival.

Our participation and successes at this race grows year on year and last year we picked up both the men’s and ladies team prizes!  It’s a fantastic day out with many of us going for a swim and a few drinks afterwards (see FB for pics).

The training is pitched at all standards – from first timers to seasoned mountain runners.  So, if you have entered for the first time it’s worth joining us on one or all four of the nights.  Ruth, Ali and myself will be there to guide you up and down and offer any advice and assistance where we can.

We meet and leave from the car park in Cushendall that is just off the main street (runs parallel to main street and river).  It is advisable that you wear suitable footwear (a good trail shoe) and bring or wear a rain coat or long sleeved top as it can get cold up on top.

If you have any questions in advance of the training please just ask any one of the three of us.

I look forward to seeing you all soon.

Mark

Lurig Entries - Please note that this race will sell out.  If you have not already entered and intend doing so you’re advised to do so as soon as possible.
