Ballymena Runners have been in action at the Malcolm Cup cross country event in Ormeau Park and there were some outstanding performances at the Raheny 5 mile road race.

Its been a busy few weeks with the Christmas Cracker and the Turkey Trot and the Greencastle 5 mile road race. And the Cross Country season is in full swing with races at Mallusk, Owenbeg and Lurgan Park.

Cosy Sofa Postponed until 13 January

Unfortunately the snowy and icy weather means that we have to postpone the start of the Cosy Sofa for 1 week.

The programme will now start on Tuesday 13th January 2026 at 7:00pm in the Sports Zone Hall in the new Northern Regional College (NRC) in Ballymena.

King and Queen of the Glen crowned

Well done to everyone who completed the Race over the Glen today. The Ladies race was won by Aine Gosling and the Mens by Timothy Johnston. Glens Runners won both the the Male and Female Team prizes.

Saturday saw the Ballymena Runners Return to Running group complete their first Parkrun at Ecos. Naturally buns were used to celebrate. We still Run for Buns!

Mountain Marathons in the Mournes, partnering our local parkrun, the return of the Belfast Marathon with first timers and pb's galore! and the 'big one' . . . the London Marathon with first timers, pb's and club records smashed! as well as our 'Iron Men' in Barcelona!

BRAC ladies take Bronze at Road Relay Championships and club members in action in Manchester and the Mournes

Ballymena Runners put in some great performances at the NI and Ulster Road Relay Championships topped by our ladies team winning a brilliant Bronze medal. Meanwhile club members have been running in the Great Manchester Run and at the Buzzards Roost in the Mourne Mountain Run.

This week saw club runners in action at Ecos parkrun, NI 10,000 metre championships, Shanes Castle half marathon and 10k as well as the Mourne Mountain Marathon. And watch out for something to mark the clubs 30th birthday…

Robin Alexander completes epic 100k coastal endurance run for Mountain Rescue.

On Saturday Robin run 100km in one day from Portstewart to Cushendall, running over the 3 mountain peaks of Slieveanorra, Trostan and Lurig to raise awareness and much needed funds for the North West Mountain Rescue Team. See the pictures and find out what made him take on this epic challenge…..

Our new 6 week Return to Running programme helps members get back into running after a break. It will help build fitness and confidence to help people get back running in our 30 minute group or doing a parkrun. If you haven't been running for a while and want to get back this is for you.
