We reported previously Jack McKenna’s Lake District fell run (the Bob Graham Round) in September when he completed 66 miles and 27,000 feet of climbing in under 24 hours. We now have his full story and pictures of this exceptional challenge.

'Neigh bother' to the Ballymena Runners 'thoroughbreds' as they gallop around Down Royal race course behind closed doors!

This week end saw another great ‘behind closed doors’ event as part of the Championchip Ireland race series at Down Royal Racecourse.

This weekend saw Ballymena Runners complete the virtual London Marathon and compete in the Les Jones Memorial 5k at the Mary Peters Track.

Last week saw Ballymena Runners in action fell running in the Lake District and in the Slieve Donard race. Other club members took part in various races at Shanes Castle in Antrim. Meanwhile Susanna Allen completed her ‘Six Hour Running Challenge’ at the Michelin Track.

From the 4th to the 8th September the Ballymena Belles Team had almost 400 people participating in their virtual 2020 Five Mile Run. We were delighted to see we had runs taking place all over the UK, Ireland and even as far as Latvia! Our Facebook page was flooded with pictures and stories.

In association with our main sponsor, McKillop's Spar Frys Road we are please to confirm a special medal collection event for Saturday 12th September 2020 from 2:30-4:30. Our Belles team will be on site to welcome you and hear how you got on! For those who can collect on the day, McKillop's Spar have added a few more goodies to your pack and we’ll even have cupcakes supplied.

Entries to our Virtual Run is now open!

Simply run 5 miles between Friday 4th September and Tuesday 8th September. Our virtual run will be at a reduced entry fee of £5 and all participants will receive a Ballymena Belles 2020 medal and gift. If you haven’t already registered you can do do so now and don’t forget to watch our facebook page for more updates.

We are doing our best to keep people in the Foundation Section engaged and encouraged. So we are going to try something new – a catch up with folk using Zoom. We will talk about the Belles, a virtual run to Dublin and getting running again if you have lost your running mojo.
