The wintery weekend weather wasn't enough to stop a few hardy souls from Ballymena Runners making their way to Lough Fea to compete in the second race in the Sperrin Harriers Winter Trail Series on Saturday.

Congratulations Susanna Allen on her selection for the Northern Ireland & Ulster team for the Anglo-Celtic 100k Home Countries international meeting due to be held in spring next year.

James Hamilton smashed the long standing club 10k record when he ran a superb 31:24 in the ever popular Seeley Cup at Belfast's Ormeau Park on Saturday.

Ballymena Runners swapped the trainers and hi-viz for a bit of glamour and sparkle on Saturday evening for the annual club awards dinner at the Wild Duck Inn, Portglenone. 

Five Ballymena Runners represented Northern Ireland Masters in the British and Irish Cross Country International. This year the event took place at the famous Aintree Racecourse. 

Cold, wet and very muddy conditions greeted the club members when they arrived to tackle the Bobby Rea Cross Country Races at the Billy Neill MBE Country Park outside Dundonald.

On Sunday over 53,000 runners pounded the streets of the Big Apple across all five boroughs in the 49th edition of the New York City Marathon. 

All roads led to Dublin this weekend for the 40th anniversary edition of the KBC Dublin Marathon.

Off road has very much been the order of the day for Ballymena Runners recently with athletes from the club turning out in a variety of trail, cross country and mountain events.

On a weekend when marathon running grabbed the sporting headlines Ballymena Runners were not found wanting with no fewer than five members of the club winging their way to the Windy City to compete in the Chicago Marathon.
