On Tuesday night Ballymena Runners swapped their normal vests and shorts for beards, hats, white fur trimmed red jackets, trousers and broad buckled belts as they embarked on the annual Santa Run around the streets of the town centre as a fundraiser for TinyLife.

After a week off because of the weather the club were back in action in places as far apart as Rostrevor, the Maiden City ... and Lanzarote!

Ballymena Runners were represented by 20 athletes at the Malcolm Cup Cross Country event with more donning club colours at Lough Fea and Loughgall Country Park.

It was Seeley Cup weekend and, as ever, Ballymena Runners were very well represented at this prestigious event ... as well as spreading some early festive cheer in the town centre!

This week we swapped our trainers for dancing shoes to celebrate our achievements over the past twelve months but there was still plenty of running with a strong club showing at international level and at Drum Manor.

The winter trail season is in full swing now with a sizeable number of Ballymena Runners competing in Davagh, Garvagh and Tollymore Forests ... oh, and there was a wedding to celebrate too!

It's been a busy time for the club over the past few days. Congratulations to the Cross Country team for a strong showing in Ballyclare, to our New York City Marathon runners and to all those who picked up new PB's at whatever event they attended.

There was a strong showing at the SSE Airtricity Dublin Marathon with over 30 athletes representing the club while congratulations go to our call-ups for the forthcoming Masters International event in November.

There was a successful weekend in Wicklow for Gillian and Ruth as they secured podium places at Run The Ridge, while the Cross Country season got off to a good start ... plus news from Davagh, Dundrum and Amsterdam!

What an interesting and varied week of action for Ballymena Runners! From going back in time at Cultra to the streets of London and from the Atlantic coast to the Mediterranean there seemed to be few places that the club colours didn’t grace with their presence.
