New Cosy Sofa up and running

After two weeks postponements due to bad weather the Ballymena Runners Cosy Sofa started on 23 January in Lifestyle Fitness at Pennybridge.

As with previous years the programme is led by trained, experienced leaders with the support of experienced club members. Our thanks to everyone in the club involved in organising and helping out at the Cosy Sofa - without this crucial help the Cosy Sofa wouldn’t be the tremendous success it is.

This year 100 people have joined the Cosy Sofa. It was brilliant to see so many new faces and such enthusiasm from everyone taking part.

Cosy Sofa meeting on Tuesday evenings

This is a 9 week programme suitable for everyone. By the end of the 9 weeks people be able to run for 30 minutes (or maybe do a 5k parkrun). All we ask of people taking part is to complete each run in the program. That amounts to 3 runs per week.  On Tuesday night our leaders will take runners in small groups for their run.  Midweek runners will do their own run.

On Saturday our leaders will be at ecos parkrun and we will do our third run as part of it.  Everyone is welcome to complete the parkrun whether running, walking or a mixture of both.  Lots of people walk the parkrun so don’t be put off.  Details of ecos parkrun are here. If you want your parkrun to be recorded you need to register and bring your barcode.  You can register hereParkrun starts at 9.30 sharp so arrive early.  Lots of people go for a cuppa in the café afterwards.
