Ballymena Rugby Club Women and Girls Colour Run

Ballymena Runners was delighted to help organise a colour run to support the Women and Girls Section of Ballymena Rugby Club raise funds for a Girls Youth Trip.

The windy afternoon didn’t deter over 100 children and from the Rugby Club taking part in the colour run. As usual the adults taking part and helping had as much fun as the kids.

As well as the colour run there was a BBQ, tea and tray bakes and some games of tag rugby for the younger players. The Ballymena Rugby Club Women and Girls facebook page has lots of photos of the day.

Ballymena Runners member Stephen Brown who organised the event was delighted the club was able to help:

It’s brilliant that Ballymena Runners are so active supporting the local community. Its great to see so many children out enjoying themselves. The smiles on the faces of the children and everyone else involved makes colour runs such rewarding fun.

My thanks to the large number of Ballymena Runners who helped out making this such a fun packed day for the children.

The Club are especially grateful to Galgorm Resort and Spa who have provided generous sponsorship for our programme of colour runs. Their sponsorship will enable over 500 local children to take part in this fun filled activity.

Aine Fraser who helped organise the event on behalf of the Women and Girls Section said:

A huge thank you has to go to all our volunteers who helped organise the day along with our friends in the Ballymena Runners. It was a fantastic team effort!!

Everyone at Ballymena W&Gs Section would like to thank everyone who supported this event and who came out today and joined in on the fun helping us raise funds for our Girls Youth Trip.
